Dirt Rally - PC version

Finally!

What a superb game this is! These was my first impressions of the game during first 30 minutes. Have not changed my mind after clocked some 30 hours to Steam gameclock. Though that might be a bit misleading figure. Game has been clocking main screen some of the time while playing with the kid other stuff. But still I have played game many hours and still love it!

Is it new Richard Burns Rally?

To be honest. No, but quite close. This is very playable, fun game, easy to learn and difficult to master. You cannot drive through corners with full speed. Otherwise you will be around trees for sure and lose the top time of the track. Well you can always restart then and try again. At least when driving alone single event.

But in rally games you drive many stages and total time counts. Even if you are not able to keep car on track, it won't be damaged that badly. Recover car and continue trip. This is main difference with RBR. There was "realistic" car damage model. New Dirt does not have it. In RBR it was scary to drive fast, crashing car would end your race. Other stuff like weight balancing with car, that all is in Dirt as well. Handling is very well built in my opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

Many of reviews stated that graphics are looking bit old on Dirt. I think that graphics are very good indeed in this game. Game runs smoothly even with full settings. Of course this may vary depending on your specs. In my case I have latest Skylake and Nvidia 970 card.

Multiplayer

There is many aspects of multiplayer. You can participate available leagues, create your own leagues, drive daily-weekly-monthly events. Actually these events are good in that way that these offers credits (money), which can be then used to buy new cars to garage. These cars can be used in single player career mode as well. This is very welcome approach!

One thing what multiplayer part is missing still, is hot seat mode. Which would allow to race against your friends using same computer. I still remember days from Rally Trophy era. During weekends having friends visiting and driving. And having of course some freshments :)

Conclusion

Well done codies! Defineltely recommend this game to everyone who are looking for a modern racing game!
